This website sets no cookies and runs no advertising or tracking pixels. It keeps only anonymous visit counts, so we can see which pages get read and roughly where visitors come from. Those counts cannot identify you. The rest of this page explains it in the detail the law asks for.

Who is responsible for this site

peterbdmd.com is owned and operated by Dr. Peter Bonifatto, DMD, individually, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He writes it and pays for it himself. It is not operated by Summer Dental & Orthodontics, and this policy does not govern that practice, its website, its phone system, or its patient records. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.

What information this site collects

Directly, none. There is no account to create, no newsletter, no contact form, no live chat, no download gate, and no field anywhere on this site that sends what you type to us.

Specifically, and to be unambiguous about the things sites usually do:

• No cookies are set by this site.
• No data is written to local storage or session storage.
• Analytics is limited to two cookieless counters: our own first-party measurement, and Vercel Web Analytics. Both count visits in aggregate. There is no Google Analytics and no advertising analytics. What they record, and what they deliberately do not, is set out under "Analytics" below.
• No advertising, conversion, retargeting or social pixels. No Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn insight tag.
• No session replay, heat mapping, scroll tracking, mouse tracking or form-field capture.
• No chat widget, no booking widget, no review widget, no embedded video player, no map embed.
• No profile of you is built, and nothing follows you from one visit to the next or across other websites.

There is no cookie consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

Information handled by the companies that deliver the site

Two third parties see a request from your browser purely so that the page can appear. Neither is used by us to build a profile of you, and we do not receive individual visitor data from either.

• Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard server request logs. Those logs typically contain an IP address, the page requested, a timestamp, and browser and device type. This is the ordinary technical record any web server keeps in order to serve pages and defend against abuse. Vercel also runs the small server-side function that turns each visit into an anonymous record, described under "Analytics" below.
• Supabase provides the database that stores those anonymous analytics records. It holds no cookies, no IP addresses, and nothing that identifies you: only the aggregate measurements listed under "Analytics" below. Your browser never contacts Supabase directly. The record is written server-side, by the function on the host, after your IP address has already been used to derive an approximate location and then discarded.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces. When your browser fetches a font file it connects to Google's servers, and Google receives your IP address and browser information as part of that request. If you would rather that not happen, a content blocker, a VPN, or a browser configured to block third-party requests will prevent it, and the site remains readable in your device's default typeface.

Analytics

We run our own analytics so that we can see which pages get read and roughly where visitors come from, without handing that to an advertising company. Think of it as the modern equivalent of a visitor counter. It is built to the same cookieless, privacy-first standard as tools like Plausible and Fathom.

How it works: when a page loads, it sends a small message to our own server noting the page you viewed, the link or search that sent you here, and your screen size. It sends the same kind of message if you tap the call button or a "book" button, so we can count how many visitors reached out, which pages prompted it, and where those visitors came from. Our server adds an approximate location worked out from your IP address (usually the country, often the city) and the kind of device and browser you are using, including its operating system, then stores that anonymous record in a database run by Supabase. We also run Vercel Web Analytics, a second cookieless counter built into the host, as a cross-check.

What neither one does: they set no cookies, they write nothing to your browser's storage, and they do not keep your IP address. Your IP is used for a moment to work out the approximate location and to count unique visits, then discarded. It is never written to the database. Unique visits are counted with a one-way hash that mixes in a secret value and the date, so it cannot be reversed into your IP and it resets every day, which means it cannot follow you from one day to the next. No profile of you is built and nothing follows you onto other websites. Because there are no cookies and no lasting identifier, no consent banner is required, which is why you will not see one.

Only three companies are involved, all listed above: the host, the database that stores the anonymous counts, and the type foundry. None of them receives data that identifies you.

Forms

There are none. This site has no contact form, no booking form, no quiz, and no field of any kind for you to type into, so there is nothing for it to receive or store. It has no way to take in a symptom, a medical history, a medication, or any other clinical detail even if you wanted to send one.

Reaching Dr. Bonifatto happens on the telephone, through Summer Dental & Orthodontics. Anything you tell the practice lives in the practice's own records under their privacy practices, which are separate from this website and are not covered by this policy.

Categories of third parties we share information with

None. What we keep is anonymous analytics counts, not personal information about you, so there is none to disclose, share, rent, trade or sell. We have never sold personal information and have no plans to. We do not receive payment or any other consideration in exchange for visitor data.

Third-party tracking across other websites

We do not permit any third party to collect information about your online activities over time and across other websites or online services through this site, and we are not aware of any doing so. Your browser contacts only two companies here: the host and the type foundry. The anonymous visit counts are written server-side to the database run by Supabase, which your browser never contacts directly. None of the three is an advertising network, and none builds a profile of you.

Reviewing or changing your information

There is no process for reviewing or requesting changes to your information on this site, for the simple reason that there is no information to review. We hold no visitor records, no profiles, and no mailing list. If you believe otherwise, or want that confirmed in writing, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page and you will get a written answer.

Information you give the dental practice as an actual patient is a separate matter, held by the practice, and requests about it should go to Summer Dental & Orthodontics directly.

Your rights under Nevada law

Nevada law (NRS 603A.300 to 603A.360) gives consumers the right to tell an operator of a website not to sell their covered information. We do not sell covered information and never have. If you want to submit a request anyway, our designated request address for that purpose is the phone number and postal address at the bottom of this page, or the email address once one is published here. We will respond to a verified request within 60 days.

We believe this site falls outside the definition of an "operator" in NRS 603A.330 on more than one ground. We are giving you the right regardless, because it costs us nothing and it is the right way round.

Your rights under other states' laws

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy statutes generally have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling. Those rights are all satisfied here by the same fact: we do not collect, sell, share or profile. There is nothing to know, nothing to delete, nothing to correct, and nothing to opt out of. Exercise any of them by contacting us. We will never charge you or treat you differently for asking.

On consumer health data specifically, including under Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws: this website does not collect consumer health data as those laws define it. It does not ask about your health and does not build any record linked or reasonably linkable to you. Our analytics counts that a page was viewed, including treatment pages, but stores that count without your IP address and without any identifier that connects the visit to you, so no record exists of what any identifiable person read.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal. We honour both by default and by design: there is no tracking to switch off and no sale to opt out of, so the outcome is identical whether you send a signal or not.

Health information and HIPAA

This website is not a channel for protected health information and is not built to receive it. Nothing here is a patient portal.

Please do not send medical or dental history, symptoms, photographs of your mouth, insurance details or any other clinical information by email or through any web form. Ordinary email is not encrypted in transit and is not an appropriate place for health information. Call the office instead, or use the practice's own secure intake.

Protected health information you provide as an actual patient of Summer Dental & Orthodontics is governed by that practice's HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided to you at your visit and is separate from this policy.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no information from anyone, which necessarily includes children. If you believe a child has somehow provided information through this site, contact us and we will look into it.

Security and retention

The site's pages are static and served over HTTPS with HTTP Strict Transport Security. Behind them sit exactly two stores of data: our host's standard server logs, kept on the host's schedule and used for delivering the site and for security rather than marketing, and the anonymous analytics records described under "Analytics" above, stored in the database run by Supabase. Those records contain no names, no IP addresses and no lasting identifiers. There is no login and no other stored visitor data.

Visitors from outside the United States

This site is operated from and hosted in the United States and is aimed at people in Southern Nevada. If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the only processing that occurs is the delivery of the page itself, on the basis of our legitimate interest in making a website work, plus the Google Fonts connection described above. Data reaching the United States in the course of that delivery is a consequence of you requesting a US-hosted page.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is posted on this page with a new effective date at the top. If a change is material, meaning the site starts collecting something it did not collect before, a notice saying so will appear on this page for at least 30 days after the change takes effect. We will never apply a material change retroactively to information already collected.
